This section of the site will highlight student assessment. Effective educators use various forms of assessment to guide instruction. Assessment is not limited to "end of the unit" tests. Instead, assessment should take place throughout instruction (before, during, and after). The information gathered from assessments will allow a teacher to modify their instruction in order to challenge and meet the needs of each individual student. For an AIG learner, assessment can provide the opportunity for enrichment. For other learners, it provides the teacher with valuable data on content that may require modified instruction or content that has been understood. Regardless, assessment allows for differentiated classrooms to thrive. The following assessment types are used to monitor student achievement.
